Whitecaps FC to tour Great Britain for just 11 days

Whitecaps FC will train on Monday in Vancouver before departing for the United Kingdom, where they face Cardiff City FC, Oxford United FC, and Bristol City FC on their pre-season tour.

The 'Caps British tour is in preparation for an upcoming Champions League quarterfinal with Red Bull New York. The first leg will be on 22 February in New York, and the second leg at BC Place on 2 March.

On Monday, the 'Caps will train at Ken Woods Field at 11:30 AM. The first team will be joined by four Whitecaps FC 2 players, two unsigned draft selections, as well as a select number of camp invitees. The full squad is listed below.

On Friday, 27 January, the club will kick off their preseason with a match against Cardiff City in Wales. Then, on Monday, 30 January, they will face Oxford United FC at Dragon park in Wales, and the final match will take place on 2 February against Bristol City FC, location to be confirmed. Each British side will feature a mixture of first team and reserves.

Following their British tour, the Whitecaps will hold one training session in Vancouver on Monday, 6 February, before they depart for Portland and the Rose City Invitational, where they will compete with Minnesota Untied FC, Real Salt Lake, and Portland Timbers on 9, 12, and 15 February, respectively.

Following their trip down the Oregon Trail, the 'Caps will hold training sessions in Vancouver on Saturday and Sunday, 18 and 19 February, before heading to New York for the first leg with New York.

The Major League season kicks on 5 March, when Vancouver will host Philadelphia Union at BC Place.
