Eight games. It's been eight long games since the Giants got in the win column. And of the eight, only one of them has been by a single goal. If the G-Men want to have any hope of making the playoffs, they're going to have to wake up, and do it in a hurry. Claude Noël's done his part. He called a time out early in the first period.

"I had to wake the guys up," said Noël after the game. "I watched six minutes of the first period and we have a power play, but we need to wake up."

"It wasn't a power play timeout, it was a wake the hell up" timeout. Unfortunately, they gave up a short-handed goal on that particular power play, and Noël "thought 'well that's a good move.'"

The Royals scored that short-handed goal seven minutes in, and they held that slender lead going into the first intermission.

"I came in after the first (period) and I didn’t want to go" into the locker room. "I'm standing there and I'm trying to remain calm, but I'm like 'really.'"

Picking up where they had left off, the Royals doubled their lead in the second thanks to Alex Forsberg's 26th goal of the season.

"It's very disappointing," said Noël of the loss. And they get to do it all over again on the Island. And chances are if they don't win them both, their last two games against the Conference topping Kelowna Rockets. While there's still hope, we aren't expecting much.

Join us for Vancouver's final match of the 2015 season when the Giants host Kelowna on March 21st.
