Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Founded in 1973, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are one of the oldest clubs in Major League Soccer. The ‘Blue and White’ suffered a humiliating season under Teitur Thórdarson and Tom Soehn in 2011, but Martin Rennie managed to guide the Caps to the MLS Cup qualifying round at the first attempt. Vancouver shares an intense rivalry with the Montreal Impact. The Whitecaps are the most successful club in one of Major League Soccer’s most eagerly-anticipated series, the Cascadia Cup. 2014 marks a change at the helm as Martin Rennie was not retained as manager, to be replaced by his former assistant, Carl Robinson. With some excellent young players graduating from the academy, already in the first-team, and Golden Boot winner Camilo Sanvezzo, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to enjoy a brighter future.
