The Whitecaps retained the Cascadia Cup last week in Washington. Vancouver's win meant that the Los Angeles Galaxy could take a three point lead over the Seattle Sounders FC with a win in Dallas. And while Stefan Ishizaki's 22nd minute effort proved insufficient to the task, watching the Curva Collective, Rain City Brigade, and Vancouver Southsiders present the Cascadia Cup to Pedro Morales and the Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club still hurt. A lot.

Conflicting reports put it at either four or five years, with each year of the deal being worth 10-million dollars. The problem here is that while Heineken will become the league's Official Beer, that doesn't necessarily translate into being a club's Official Beer.

The schedule can giveth and taketh away in a single road trip. Last night, the Prince George Cougars were in Spokane, where they mauled the Chiefs 6-2. After a 665-kilometre bus trip, they found themselves in Vancouver to face the Giants at the Pacific Coliseum. Had they managed to put up more of a fight, they might have happily made the 10-hour journey home.

The Clan's Captain, Jovan Blagojevic, earned himself a penalty kick less than 20 seconds into the game. MSU-Billings goalkeeper Tom Lohmann went right, and Blagojevic went left to easily convert the penalty with a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.
